My Birthday Thought!

November 27 is always my birthday. This year's celebration however will remain forever in my memories. You ask why?
I woke up to a brand new morning when my mobile phone rang(like i expected0, and alas! it was none other than my mentor Tope Ogunfayo, who showered a lot of prayers on me.....i really felt loved. Then my dad called and also continued from where the previous caller stopped.such a great way to start a new day.
It was a busy early morning as sms after sms kept coming in....thanks to all those who remembered my birthday. My colleagues at work also kept on singing "birthday boy, happy birthday...etc" Whao!! dont be jealous.
It was about 11.00am that i heard a loud "BANG!", evidently not too far from my office. I thought the "big boys" were know what i mean..working in a bank makes u a prayerful person, asking God always to blind the eyes of robbers to your branch.

It was moments latter that customers in the bank started crying they should be allowed to go out- there was a fire outbreak just nextdoor. A big truck carrying bags of Rice had crashed into the market. Many made efforts to put out the fire before the fire fighters came. They tried, but the deed had been done. Asides the property worth thousands of Naira lost to the fire, not less than nine (9) individuals were caught in the fire, and the resultant electrical cable cut killed them. Such a mishap on my birthday anniversary!

I sat down later to give an account of the day and i came to the conclusion that life is short! Whatever impact i am meant to make must be made right NOW. One of those that died is well known to me. May their departed souls rest in peace.

The Bible has said it;there will always be two sets of people in the world- the rich and the poor, the young and old, the believers and the non believers...etc
My advise today is that you be amongst those that will make impact in the world.

Have a great day!

What Motivates You?

"If money is your hope for independence, you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability. "

Build Your Self Image

"Self-image sets the boundaries of accomplishment."
-- Maxwell Maltz, Author

Key To Achievement

"I learned that we can do anything, but we can't do everything.. at least not at the same time. So think of your priorities not in terms of what activities you do, but when you do them. Timing is everything."
-- Dan Millman, Author

Recognize your priorities and do them. You may have to offend some people in the course of that. Never mind! People only associate with winners. Go for Gold, and everyone will come for you, even your greatest enemies.

Have a great day!

Cultivate The Attitude of Winning

If Columbus had turned back, no one would have blamed him. No one would have remembered him, either.

-- Anonymous
The truth is that nobody ever knows you are at the edge of success, but giving up at any point in time will xpose you. Only those who dont QUIT will WIN. Quiters never Win.

Always do all you can when you can, and follow it to a successful end. Never believe those who tell you it's IMPOSSIBLE(they actually dont know any better). Stand your ground and fight for your dream. No one would have blamed Colombus, butmore importantly, no one would have remembered him.

Have a great day!

I read a quote recently and it blew my mind because most often we tend to forget or maybe we just are indifferent about life. It goes thus:

"A man with ability and the desire to accomplish something can do anything"
-- Donald Kircher
Did you see that? Everything we desire to accomplish in life can be made possible with just two ingredients- Ability & Desire. Period!
Ability is a function of continous learning and practice. Desire on the other hand is a function of inner processes(your Mind).

Determine today to succeed, and GO FOR IT!
Increase your knowledge and stretch your imagination.

You can achieve whatever you believe long enough.

Have a great day!

Success & Victory

"Victory often goes to the army that makes the least mistakes, not them most brilliant plans."
-- Charles de Gaulle, 18th President of the French Republic

"If you find yourself in a MESS, do not stay down. Just pick up the MESSAGE and move on." It's amazing and surprising how people refuse to move on after a disappointment, or a business failure, exam failure, etc. Instead of staying down, what you need to do is learn your lesson and move on. Like Myles Munroe once said, "Courage is the ability to move from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" It's that simple.
In what area have you experienced failure or MESS? Do yourself a favour, Pick up the Message and move UP!
Have a great day

True Success

Brian Tracy said:
Being respected by others is very important to each of us. A survey done by the Gallup organization found that the most prominent living Americans rated the respect of others as the most important measure of success in life. They worked very hard to earn the respect of their parents, the respect of their spouses and children, the respect of their peers and colleagues, and the respect of mankind at large.

How then do you gain the respect of others? Simply by serving them. Meet their needs. Lend a helping hand. Just do something to help someone.

Have a great day!

Managing Your Time(Life)

How much time you put in and how much of yourself you put into that time, largely determines your earning ability. Poor time management is one of the major reasons for poor productivity and underachievement in every industry in America. It is the number one problem for both managers and salespeople in every field.
-Brian Tracy

Increase Your Earning Ability

The amount of money that you are paid today is a direct measure of the extent to which you have developed your earning ability so far.
-Brian Tracy

Personal Management

Success in life is a product of a well-developed personal management attitude. Personal management on the other hand is better achieved by a good Time Management System. The way you use your time determines the results you get out of life.
Whether or not you're managing your time well is determined by the TASKS you embark upon. The importance/non-importance and/or urgency of the tasks you embark upon will determine how well you're managing your time, and thus the results(positive/negative) that you'll get.

Like Brian Tracy said in his book "GOALS", the most important word in determining the value of a particular task or activity is 'consequences'. A task that is valuable and important is a task that has serious consequences for completion or noncompletion. The greater the possible consequences of a task or activity, the more important it is.

A task for which there are few if any consequences is by definition not particularly important. Your aim in personal management, therefore, is to spend more time doing more of those tasks that can have the greatest possible consequences on your life and work.

PAUSE for a moment and think about how you have spent time in the few days this year has given!! How have you fared? However you have;if well, very good, but if not, then, it's never too late to start doing the right thing. START NOW! Plan your day, Plan your life.
Pursue those goals you've set for 2008. Be committed to them, be serious about them, and be disciplined enough to give it all that it requires to achieve every single one of them.

It's a great day. Go and Conquer Your World!

This post is meant to stir you up once again to keep aiming at your goal. I was listening to Bishop T.D. Jakes this morning speaking about 'working in a hostile environment', and he said that one of the things that keeps you going even in that hostile work environment is having the mindset that where you are now should not define where you're going.

It is absolutely true that even the whole universe is a hostile environment- you hear of people dying everyday, accidents everywhere, wars, natural disasters, etc, but we still got to live anyway. There is no 'comfort zone' anywhere on earth really; that is why even in the best otganisation, that hostility is still there. Everybody cannot like you no matter how nice or handsome you are. But we still must live and succeed!

One of the attitudes to develop to survive in this hostile environment is to remember that
'where you are is not a definition of where you are going'
.Get the best of where you are now, having the future in mind. You must always keep your mind on the goal. Never let it out of your sight.Never mind what your surrounding or environment is throwing at you; whether pebbles or rocks. Shake them off, and step on them to get higher. Dont let every little thing stop you. You have to move on.
